Great game, annoying quirks Great game, annoying quirksI posted a review last year, and to their credit, the developers fixed many of my complaints and added many of the requested features! THANK YOU!!! However some remain. Also, a portrait lock feature was added in the preferences. That was a wonderful new feature and it worked beautifully. Unfortunately, it is now broken in the current release. Remaining issues: 1. Portrait lock used to work but is now broken. 2. I like to play "Training Mode" because I'm not interested in racing the clock. Each time I launch the game and select "Play," it explains what training mode is. Even when I try to tap past it, it still hesitates before starting the game. I don't need to be told what training mode is anymore. I would like it to just start the game immediately. 3. The beeps that are played when the letters are revealed are fine except for the high note that's played when you finally get all the letters correct. The high note sounds flat. It probably isn't technically flat, but it sounds flat. Many people don't know that when you tune a piano, the higher notes are actually tuned a little sharper and the lower notes are tuned a little flatter. This process is called "Stretched Tuning." Please tune the top note a few cents sharper so it sounds nicer. There are three pitches used: C4 for wrong letters, C5 for correct letters, and C6 for winning the game. For proper tuning, C4 should be .5 cents sharp, C5 should be 3.75 cents sharp and C6 should be 12.11 cents sharp. I know this sounds nit picky, but this will be a wonderful fix for any player who happens to have musical sensibilities. 4. A silly bug remains after over a year of notifying the developer: Start a game in training mode. Take a guess or two without solving the puzzle. Then, press your home button and exit the app completely. (You may have to kill the app from your multitasking bar.) When you re-launch, it will ask you to resume your game; say yes. Now, solve the puzzle. When you restart and it gives you a new puzzle. This new puzzle will be the exact same word as the previous puzzle. Congratulations, you now have a perfect game and 1200 points you don't deserve. ;-) It's a fun game. If these problems all got fixed, I'd be delighted to give it five stars.
