It's OK, it only copies Skype contacts, not all contacts It's OK, it only copies Skype contacts, not all contactsSo many reviews saying Skype wants to steal all my contacts! Apparently that is NOT what is happening. Rather, Skype wants to keep a copy of your Skype contacts. It has always done this, but for some reason with 4.1 Skype decided to ask users' explicit permission, thus the new worrisome security dialog. I don't think I can insert a link in an app review, but do a search on the two phrases "skype 4.1 for iphone and ipad" and "storing your skype contacts" and you'll find Skype's explanation of what's going on.

Worked for 1 day but now always crashes! Worked for 1 day but now always crashes!Great concept, but flawed execution. Worked for one day, during which I discovered that the app doesn't know the difference between an initial high-severity alert and a renewal or update. If NOAA broadcasts that a high-severity alert will be allowed to expire, Weather Alert USA treats it the same as an initial high-severity alert and pushes out the same urgent notifications. Danger! Danger! The flood watch will expire at 9AM! Next, something caused the app icon's badge to show "2" alerts. But I couldn't see any alerts in the alert list. That lasted a few hours. Now, the badge stills shows "2" but the app reliably crashes a few seconds after it is started. Four bucks down the drain?

Worth the price Worth the priceUsed on a couple of day hikes so far, worked well. Was especially useful for assessing total distance traveled, and for emailing waypoints and tracks for import directly into Google Earth on another computer. Be aware this app is no substitute for a proper and up-to-date trail map. The two maps I downloaded were over 30 years old and showed very little of the trail systems in the parks I visited. For example the Mendham NJ quadrangle was last updated in 1981 from a 1976 aerial survey. Finally, map handling appears processor intensive; each pan or zoom-out involves a 1-2 second delay on an iPhone 4s. I'm OK with all this however, no regrets.

NOT ClearWeather (and NOT pro) NOT ClearWeather (and NOT pro)Bought by mistake instead of "ClearWeather - Color forecast"; virtually the same name and similar screenshots. But there is nothing "pro" about this app. Only handles one location at a time; the 5-day forecast starts with yesterday; and I don't believe the forecast temps, they are 7-10 degrees cooler than other forecasts. Beautiful clean artwork and interface, but save the $0.99 and consider the $1.99 for ClearWeather.

GPS broken; harsh alarm; rough quality overall GPS broken; harsh alarm; rough quality overallGreat idea but doesn't work as advertised. GPS location services not utilized, no dialog even comes up asking if I wish to allow access to location services. Only manual entry of lat/lon supported. "Use GPS" slider button may corrupt the location entry dialog graphics permanently for that location, only solution is to delete location and start a new one. Unless iPhone is already AWAKE then only the default alarm will sound (a windup bell-and-clapper style alarm that I found frighteningly harsh). If you wake up the phone during the alarm, only then it switches to your selected sound/music. Sunrise/sunset times appear accurate, two stars for that. This review is for Version 2.0 running under iOS 4.1 on an iPhone 3.
