I am so happy that Change exists! I regularly travel the world opening bars and have probably tried all the POS systems in existence. Normally I hate the POS because they seem to regularly have confusing screens and buttons, unnecessarily convoluted menus and back-ends, and are generally quite unsightly. Change is the first one that I actually love—the first one that simplifies and speeds up the process of taking orders and checking out—and looks great doing so. Organized, clean, and intuitive, it's a piece of cake to train staff on (I can't believe I actually said that about a POS). Items, payments, open checks, settings all are always where they need to be. Unlike most systems, it's always easy to know where you are at any time and how to get to what you need to enter, reducing the uncertain hovering finger so common when entering orders. Documentation is scarce, however, so exploration pays off. The developers of this app clearly started with a fresh approach. Change is not like the many other iOS POS apps. Setting it up might feel a bit strange at first, but you'll be quick to realize how smart the whole thing is. Items are arranged by the user in any way and groups, also laid out in any way, can include items from any department. Although I am overall thrilled with Change, I can't quite give it 5 stars yet. It's simplicity is great, but some important and necessary elements are still not built in. In my opinion, this is what change is lacking: • the inability to adjust closed checks • the lack of item-specific modifiers • no password protection on settings, voids, and refunds • current inability to share printers with multiple iPads or to designate items to go to different printers I have spoken with their team and was assured that these issues are currently being worked on. And what a great support group! I was even able to chat with a developer. Also, two hopes for the app would be to include staff time card tracking and inventory. With such an affordable pricing structure and a dynamic and simplified approach to point-of-sale, there's no doubt that Change will be my POS for a long while. I'll be looking forward to future upgrades.
