  • Well balanced
Hard to put down...glad they put the gas requirements on there or I'd never get anything else done! Gas refills automatically over time...yay! Love all the options for vehicles and upgrades. Over all game is excellent for quickening hand-eye coordination. Very good graphics and a repetitive but not annoying sound track. Great variety of characters and personalities. There are a lot of icon pop up notifications about new challengers and gas being filled and ordered parts having arrived. At first these were a bit intrusive but then I found them fairly informative however, I play live music with my iPad and I need to find if these pop ups can be turned off or at least adjust the volume off on the "DING-DONG" notice in options so as not to interrupt the delicate transitions between tunes. Overall, I like this app a whole lot, surprisingly as I normally prefer steering racing games, but this has such pleasing graphics, story lines, sound effects, etc... Well done.

  • No problems
We only listen to three local stations, a public one, another from a university, and most of the time a rare 100Kw community station. This app works great. Recently our favorite program was interrupted by technical difficulties with the tower, and this app allowed us to continue listening. Love it.

  • Great new features, but at what cost?
Change is nearly always accompanied with challenges. I personally really liked the previous version however the included drum loops were getting a bit tired. Glad to see they are still there, but with the new 4 track (which is a wonderful new option) it has become somewhat cumbersome to get the beats going with another sound. It will probably get better with time and practice. My previous recordings are still there, but the drum loops are no longer attached. Drum kits and the ability for one to create their own loops are great new options but the sounds are just a tad cheesy IMHO; but look how the 707's, 808's, and 909's are still highly sought after... The new interface while cleaner seems less fun to look at; perhaps a sacrifice required to improve latency? Again, time should help. iPad2 just can't keep up when Audiobus is called into action with this CPU-intensive program. This is nearly unusable unless someone is seeking the non-rhythmic pops and glitch stops associated with an over taxed chip. Fully loaded with all the options Alchemy uses 1.8GB, but this is definitely still a go-to synth for expressive bass, lead, and soundscapes. However, the update makes this more of a workstation and no longer works as a stand alone live instrument due to the new pre-recording requirement for the drum loops.
