  • Used to work great, but no more
When first released this app was great. I used it quite a bit, both on wifi and 3G. Lately it has totally stopped working. Every attempt to dictate something ends up with a "Connection timed out" error. Neither wifi nor 3G works. Seems like Nuance jut isn't investing in the backend capacity to serve demand. Or something like that.

  • FedEx should be embarrassed
This app is simply awful. No feature works. Links don't go anywhere. You can't even start up the app without signing in to a FedEx account, even simply to look up a drop box location. I really can't believe FedEx puts their name on this.

  • New version makes app useless to me
The new version of Evernote has made the app useless to me. It is an absolute disaster. My number one use for the app was to use the previously wonderful map view to see all notes within a particular notebook on a map. That is no longer possible. You can now view "Places", but it shows every note in every notebook. Within notebook view, you can no longer see notes on the map. Not sure what might replace Evernote for this functionality, but Evernote is no longer functional for me.

  • Slowly getting better, but still worse than when part of Music app
Apple is surely succeeding in annoying all regular podcast listeners with this app. Its changes bring as many annoyances and problems as benefits. It's a case of 2 steps forward and 1.9 steps back! And they communicate nothing about what they're doing, so it's extremely annoying! I am glad that they have added iCloud syncing of podcast subscriptions and play status. That is very helpful and (mostly) seems to work for me. I still can't use this, however, because the podcast Chapter functionality is still not supported as well here as it was years ago when podcasts were part of the Music app. The chapter list available in the app only shows numbers (Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc) and not chapter titles, which is not helpful. Also, it can't even handle chapters for long podcasts in which chapters are included (and essential!); e.g., the Economist magazine full-text podcast, which is about 9 hours long and has dozens of chapters, doesn't even show a chapter menu in this app. Instacast, Downcast, etc. all show the chapter listing just fine.

  • This app feels like a mafia shakedown
It was one thing for the New York Times to offer a chronically buggy app that crashed constantly when it was free, but now that they charge exorbitantly for the privilege of using it, it is totally unacceptable that they still offer an app that crashes constantly -- 2 to 4 times a day for me. And after every crash it forgets my subscriber credentials, so I have to log in constantly. The app is more likely than anything to get me to STOP subscribing to the New York Times.
