  • I never should have updated to joystick add
I remember meeting the original Namco game in an arcade during the summer of 1980, and it was love at first sight. When I first loaded this app store game to my iPad a couple yrs ago or whenever that was it was pretty great. You just tilted the tablet back and forth to move the shooting ship and tap anywhere on the screen to shoot. I found it easiest to hold the tablet with the screen facing straight up. I had to make sure I was not under a light fixture so there wouldn't be any reflective glare. Loved that version of the game. Later there was an update available that added a joystick. I was curious about it so I picked it up and I kind of assumed I could remove it if I didn't like it. Big mistake. The joystick add is terrible and ruins the fun. I've been looking around for a way to remove it.

  • Using for Realbook
I put Realbook 1 into forscore (through itunes) as a 512 page file. Then made bookmarks for each of the tunes in realbook that normally get played on gigs. That was somewhat labor intensive to have to make a "dog ear" if you will, for each song, but it's real nice the way creating bookmarks is set up. It automatically capitalizes the words of the song title as you put it in, for instance. Also as you're making the bookmark it shows you a preview of the page of the file you're on so you can make sure you're bookmarking the correct thing. If a tune is more than one page you can touch an arrow that turns the page in the preview and it automatically changes the page range for the tune. After getting a good number of tunes bookmarked, I found it very easy and intuitive to find each tune quickly. I think forscore is a well designed app.
