Data Errors; No Support Data Errors; No SupportThe app is good in concept, but has major errors in data. Just one example: Mtn Dew Kick Start is listed with the same sizes and caffeine content as regular Mountain Dew soda. Reality is it only comes in two sizes and has over half again the caffeine. On top of that, the custom beverages aren’t customizable at all. They have a set number of options and none of them are flexible. Find a problem and want to help fix it? Good luck. The folks at Jawbone UP support don’t seem to even know about the app’s existence, and the Jawbone social media reps just tell you to contact support. So there’s no support. Sync with the UP app is good, so if you’ve managed to guesstimate the right caffeine levels, you’ll have decent information. You’ll just have to really work for it.

What if I don't drink my entire cup of coffee?! What if I don't drink my entire cup of coffee?!Sure, the bouncy balls in the Erlenmeyer flask are fun to play with, even if it does slow down the phone and eat away at battery life. And sure, the app data syncs with Health and other apps. And great, your sleep data from the "reliable" Jawbone Up syncs to tell you how your caffeine intake effects your sleep. But actually this app is really just about the bouncy balls. The data to Health is far from accurate considering a) the database of caffeine-based beverages is painfully and uselessly small, and b) the app doesn't allow you to input the actual amount of said beverage you consumed. Has anyone heard of fractions? I may pour myself an 8oz cup of coffee, but only have time to drink half of it. Or worse, ⅔'s. Adding up larger drinks may appear to be problem-free, but only if (and I repeat: fractions) you're having cups in measured doses of 8oz, 12oz, or 16oz. And don't even get me started on how incompetently it predicted restful sleep! So why am I not giving this the absolute lowest star rating available? Because bouncy balls.
