Great app Great appThis is the only units convertor I have come across that not only lets you choose the units (e.g. bars, Pascals) but also the size of the units (e.g. kilobars, GigaPascals), which makes it very flexible.

Too much clutter. Too much clutter. It's got a LOT of units to convert, I'll give it that... but thats it. Look elsewhere if you expect to convert even simple units within a reasonable time (or patience). A layered GUI would have done this app a great justice, along with field or cursor feedback so I know where I'm typing. A back, or cancel button would have been a nice touch, too. The app sticks or hangs a lot when you try to toggle back to the unit selection. Buttons are tiny and ill-placed. It places no cursor, tint or other visual cue to indicate WHAT field you're typing into. Audio feedback reminds me of early ms-dos for some reason, or when you reset your PRAM for the Mac users here. So if you get your kicks in life by converting to obscure measurement systems - go for it. If you need to actually get some work done - look elsewhere.

Ten of Ten for Concept, One of Ten for Execution Ten of Ten for Concept, One of Ten for ExecutionTo me, the interface is very well laid out. It suits the way I like to think and operate software quite well. The selection of units is good, but far from all-encompassing - for instance, I miss basically all units that have to do with heat flux: thermal resistance, thermal conductivity, and so on (perhaps they're there, I don't know, because I can't find them - a path to search units without going through the menus would at times be useful). I also believe that this kind of an app ought to be able to convert an automotive distance/consumption value to a consumption/distance value (there also ought to be a "l/10km" unit). Downright strange however are the spelling errors - the SI prefix "m" is spelled "mili", for instance. What really brings the rating down though is that the current version of the app is riddled with bugs. Any attempt to convert mm H2O to bar for instance will instanly crash the app, as will any number of basic operations, like just trying to choose any unit from certain categories. Furthermore, the "Conversion Table" responds much more sluggishly to use of the index selection bar than I find to be normal for iPhone. Generally, I'd like to recommend this app, but right now the problems with this version are a bit too many for it to be really useful. Looking forward to new, radically debugged version.
