It's basically like buying a stand-alone Tomtom GPS, except it is always in your phone and you can easily listen to music or multitask and do other things while still hearing the driving instructions. Map updates arrive with app updates and now you can even save your settings and saved addresses to the cloud. Used it as my only GPS during a three-nation road trip and it never left me down. The only thing to remember is that you have to double-tap the home button and shut down the app when you're done with it for the day, otherwise it will still give you your voice instructions while you walk. It also uses a lot of battery power (by running the GPS radio and the screen, both of which are obviously necessary) but all GPS apps do and should be used with a car charger on the road. I'm very happy with this app, it's literally a reason not to switch to a phone without iOS.
