I wanted to like this... I wanted to like this...but it is a little too simple. This could be a much better app if: --export options improved: printing, pdf, etc --you could expand to a desktop and ipod platform. Right now we all must crowd around our one ipad to view the timeline. We have multiple ipods and desktop/laptops that could be used to simply view the timelines and that would make this app so much better. --add the option of more photos attached in the event. You could choose the one used for the cover image on the timeline. --add an option to embed a link to a video. Make it more interactive and my kids would use it for review much more often. --adding multimedia options, links to music would help as well. give us the option of creating our own background music to match our timeline. Give us the ability to use our own background from artwork from the era. Please, please work on this! If you could add these options it would be worth so much more than the $4.99. I could create my own history course using your timeline app, and that my friends would be awesome.

Year only Year onlyThis app will not accept a month day year date, only year. Very frustrating interface.

Just didn't do what I needed Just didn't do what I neededTimeline Builder does most of what I want but you find how everything works by trial and error. For instance, when you have a timeline open, the tab at the top of the screen that says "Open Timeline" is the tab you must tap to also "close" the timeline. Also, there's a button to "Search Wikipedia" by the slot for a photo, which gives the impression that you can import the image directly, but it really only searches Wikipedia. To bring in a photo from Wikipedia , you must use the Search button, look for the image and save it to your Photos. Then import it from your Photos. By the Way, the Wikipedia search is by the Event Name, not by embedded text within the description of the event. You're also only able to attach one image per event on the timeline, which is fairly common for timelines. You have access to 9 backgrounds for your timeline, which in most cases may be sufficient, but if not, there's no way to import images. No spellchecker seems to function as you enter text, which is discouraging for poor spellers. And when editing or entering text, the iPad keyboard obscures the bottom of the text entry field. Also I found that when importing images from the web, the images were skewed whether I imported as the original size or the recommended 256x256 pixels. Finally, when I emailed a timeline to my gmail account, the image came across as line and lines of text. No accessible image. I just can't recommend this app when there are few web-based apps available that work so much better.
