Description
With the arrival of manager Paolo Di Canio and a host of new players, the 2011/12 season promised much for Swindon Town.

A huge budget and passionate fan base meant expectations were high.

After a difficult start the mercurial Italian rose to the challenge; Di Canio’s philosophy of hard work and discipline began to pay off.

The team’s league form improved week after week, as did its position in the league table and once Town reached the top they were to stay there for the remainder of the season, eventually winning promotion to League One.

Along the way there was cup glory too as Town knocked Premier League club Wigan out of the FA Cup and reached Wembley in the Johnston’s Paint Trophy...
