Great app Great appThis is a wonderful app to get your child's imagination rolling. The app shows a picture of a scene and depending on the skill level you choose (out of 3) the user is prompted to record their own voice talking about the scene. Once the user is content with their recording, you go on to another picture. The app then splices the answers together, forming a 'story' in the users voice. The illustrations are great! It is also a great tool for users that have articulation issues~ they can hear their own voice and you can take the opportunity to work on that too.

Story Board Review Story Board ReviewOverall I think this is a good app for elementary aged children. It is more appropriate for children who have verbal skills but need help understanding how to respond to a variety of cues and questions. I think this app would be great in a speech clinic or classroom setting as well as for use at home. I don't necessarily think though that it is an app for children to use on their own as it doesn't provide feedback on how correct or incorrect the individual's response it; would work well though with an slp, teacher, parent, older sibling! a4cwsn AppAdvisory Board Member

Story builder Story builderI have an 8 year old who is verbal but not able to read or write. This app is wonderful, for her, as she can "speak" her answers and it allows for her cognitive ability to still work despite her disability. It assists her in writing sentences and paragraphs but it doesn't matter that she can't "write" her answers down she can speak them. I also love that this app isn't a "five second thrill"...it grows with the child's ability. There are three levels all with different levels of focus and optional additional supports. The graphics used are clear and crisp and I like that they are more "pictures" than "photos". It goes with the story feel. Although, I acknowledge this may not be a preference for those children who need the photo. On a minor issue (although for parents like me it is very much appreicated) is the ease of use and setting up ready to go. Not only could I do it with a minimal amount of fuss but it was quick! Overall, this is a wonderful educational app. By far one of my favorites. I actually showed my daughters teacher this one and she just shook her head and said "that is why we need ipad's in the class room". I don't think you could get higher praise than that.
