Good, but the plant list is way too limited Good, but the plant list is way too limitedI think this program needs to include quite a few more species if it's going to be very useful on a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains--perhaps several times more than what's included. At best, you can use it to get an idea of what species a plant might be, or what familiy it's in, but you certainly can't pin down an identification. Otherwise, the interface isn't so bad. I hope Earthrover improves it by making it a lot more comprehensive.

Good Start Good StartAppreciate the habitat and blooming periods, but it would be nice to have some type of dichotomous key after you choose the plant type.

we need more of this we need more of thisIt is great to have a field guide that doesn't take up more room in my pack (and fits in my pocket!). The content is great, but I agree with an earlier reviewer that there are not enough photos. I'd like to have more photos of the plant (e.g. an overall view, the leaf, the seed) and especially be able to add my own photos (maybe even plants?). The recent addition of links to Jepson and CalPhotos is awesome and helps supplement the few areas where the app is lacking. It is well worth the cost and I hope that Earthrover releases more field guide apps in the future. I would easily upgrade this to a five star app if it had the ability to add your own photos.

great start great startThis is a very well executed app in need of more flowers. I waited awhile before buying this at $10 but decided to take the plunge. User Interface is great but when I compare the photos to my own photos from hikes it was disappointing to find I have a more complete collection than the app. Most of the photos serve the identification purpose well, but some need a better "view". In no way do I regret purchasing SMMPlants, I just hope some updates with additional species are in the works.
