SAP User Experience Monitor

SAP just doesn’t get mobile apps. It writes these apps as if it all a tablet or smartphone were NO different from PCs or laptops — and just had smaller screens. Hey SAP - “mobile” means more than just smaller screens. It means a complete change in the user interface experience, wherein data is summarized, condensed, and symbolized in a ‘shallow’ app that doesn’t go beyond a maximum of 2 levels. Enough with this drill-down silliness and overly busy screens. This is how “mobile” works, ok: is my flight on time or is it late? Is it going to rain or not? Users don’t need all the other extraneous data that breaks down in 100 steps why or why not my flight is late. Users don’t need to see radar maps and barometric tables expounding on all the nuances of the day’s weather. The SAME thing with SAP data on mobile platforms - is my SAP system UP or is it down? Are my Sales Orders getting processed within prescribed SLAs? Give me a red light, or a green light. SYMBOLOGY!!! CHARTS! TRENDS! METADATA SUMMARIES!! If a user wanted more than that, they’ll sit down and log in to a computer. When you’re trying to see all this on an iPhone, that simply isn’t going to work. Until SAP AG gets this, its forays into mobile platform development will continue to be pathetic jokes. I mean, come on, does ANYONE actually use an SAP app that they downloaded from the App Store? SAP’s got tens of thousands of clients and hundreds of millions of users, and I bet less than 10 people out of all that actually actively use an SAP app from the App Store. What’s wrong with that picture, SAP? You guys need to ask yourselves, what are we doing wrong.
