  • It’s good
…but I am still missing one feature: It would be nice to have a rule for smart folders with "title -> contains not -> text". There only "contains" exists but I would like to filter out some feeds that are ads and contain a special sequence inside the title. Then 5 stars!

  • Fantastic RSS reader for OS X
I've migrated to FeedBin and ReadKit syncs perfectly with it. I now have RSS syncing using Feedbin between Mac (ReadKit), iPhone (Reeder 2) and iPad (Mr. Reader). Fantastic. It's early days for ReadKit and RSS syncing support but it already supports a lot of the most popular RSS services. All the basic functionality is there and the developer has recently addressed my two biggest feature requests: keyboard shortcuts and more customisable sharing options. The app is regularly updated with new features and bug fixes. ReadKit also supports Instapaper (premium subscription) and Pocket read it later services. All in all a fantastic app and I look forward to future updates. Update (12th Nov 2014 for version 2.4.2): Here's some of the features I'd like to see added: Bugs === 1. In Feedbin if you are at the bottom of your list of feeds and there are new unread articles in other feeds (above your current location) the 'J' keyboard shortcut does not take you to the next unread item. I believe it should cycle back up to the top of the list so you can continue reading the unread articles. This occurred whilst I reading my last unread article, ReadKit refreshed/synced with Feedbin and new unread articles appeared in feeds above my current location, but I could not use 'J' to get to them. I had to switch back to the mouse to select the first feed containing unread articles and then start using 'J' again. Also it would be great if we could use keyboard cursor keys to navigate out of the article view and back to the feed view too. 2. Readkit forces Pinboard tags to become lower case, even if they are upper case on the Pinboard website. This leads to duplicate tags in Pinboard since Pinboard is case sensitive. I have reported this issue to the developer multiple times but it has still not been addressed. Features Requests =========== - Show total unread count next to the service name in the left-hand navigation pane. - Ability to manage folders in Instapaper. Create new folders, rename existing folders and delete folders. - Ability to enter description / summary text when saving an item to Instapaper (like you can in Mr. Reader on the iPad). - Ability to manage folders in Feedbin. Should be able to create new folders, move feeds to/from folders, delete folders, rename folders, etc. - Remember the 'Readability' setting on a per feed basis. Some feeds don't show the entire contents of each article. Thus it would be great if ReadKit could automatically use the 'Readability' view for such feeds. Feedbin already has an experimental feature like this on their website. - I would like to be able to move my Smart Folders under the account they relate to. For example it seems that there's no 'Starred' items folder in my Feedbin account when viewed in ReadKit so I created a Smart Folder to display my Starred Feedbin items and I would like to be able to move that smart folder to sit under the 'Feedbin' heading. - Remember the 'Filter Bookmarks' setting between sessions, e.g. if I show the filter bookmarks search field when I am viewing my Feedbin feeds and then I quit the app, the next time I launch the app, the filter bookmarks search section has disappeared again but the app should remember that I enabled it. - Ability to re-position toolbar buttons from from bottom of window to other locations (top or side of windows) for easier and quicker access.

  • Good app
Thanks for this app. At current time Readability not working, when I’m trying to share with Readability icon. I’m got this error: An unknown error has occurred on the remote server.

  • Love it!
I used to use NetNewsWire (actually, since it was released originally), but when that program went to poop I started using Vienna. Vienna is great, but lacks one must have feature for me: article counts for smart folders. ReadKit has that and almost every other feature I want. It would be great if it allowed Readability or Web view as the default, and even better if it remembered which to use based on feed (as Vienna does). I prefer Vienna for layout and usability, but article counts for smart folders is must for me, so for now I will use ReadKit.
