The ALERT® Pollens application enables users to view information from the Polleniferous Bulletin that is produced and made available by the Portuguese Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (http://www.rpaerobiologia.com/). This application is extremely useful for anyone interested in pollen issues as it provides a great variety of information related to the Portuguese territory, such as:
- Weekly forecast of pollen levels in the air and access to history
- Identification of measurements, locations and respective values
- Information, with images, on each pollen
- Measurement history charts with different perspectives and scales

- Identification of measurements, locations and respective values
- Information, with images, on each pollen
- Measurement history charts with different perspectives and scales
All forecast and measurement history information relates to the following Portuguese cities: Coimbra, Évora, Funchal, Lisbon, Ponta Delgada, Portimão and Porto.
The application is organized in three main sections:
Location
Initial area that provides (in list format) the weekly forecast of pollen levels for each of the mentioned 7 cities, and highlights the nearest city if the user has the geo-localization activated.
However, the user is able to access more detailed information, such as viewing the measurement value of a pollen in a given location, by clicking on the city in question.
Map
In this area, users can see the geographical location (city) of each measurement and the level of each pollen through a color scale. When a measurement is selected, the application navigates to its detail area.
Pollens
This section contains an information repository with a pollen dictionary which allows users to view detailed information, features, pollination period, image of flower and microscopic image of pollen, among other.
The displayed measurement values follow a 4 level scale, which has been defined by the Portuguese Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology:
> 60 pollen/m3
30 - 60 pollen/m3
1 - 30 pollen/m3
0 pollen/m3
