Shocked at just how bad this app is: it found *no duplicates* in a folder full of copies! Shocked at just how bad this app is: it found *no duplicates* in a folder full of copies!I have a folder with 200 files and around 80 photos in it. I have an app that renames photos so the filename contains the date the pic was taken. I accidentally duplicated 40 or so of them when I plugged my phone into my computer and it imported them. So, I had 40 or so pics called, for example, “November-1-2014-09.21.jpg”, and then the automated import left 40 called “IMG_193.JPG”. They are *identical*. Same size, same ‘taken’ time, exactly the same dimensions (2448 pixels by 3264 pixels - so, there’s a lot of photo data there). I could easily find them myself but I’m lazy. So, surely “Duplicate Photos Cleaner” will make an easy job of this? Nope. Despite scanning and rescanning - and even moving the whole folder to another location - the app found *0* duplicates. I want to repeat, because this is the sole reason for the existence of this app: The photos were *actual* duplicates. Not ‘similar’, not ‘same colours’ - they were absolute bit-for-bit copies of other photos in the same folder. They only exist because I forgot that I’d set my computer to import photos automatically when I plug my phone in. But this program is so poor, it didn’t even find one of them. These photos meet any reasonable definition of ‘duplicate’ - they are identical, differing only in file name. I like to write good reviews, and I love to support developers. But when your first experience is this bad, people need to know. Clearly the app is either extremely buggy, or it fails without error messages, or something. What it didn’t do in a folder that had 200 files and 40 exact duplicates was, find a single one of them.
