NAVIGON Southern Africa

I bought this for touring in Namibia. I am very pleased with the European version, but this version of Southern Africa is lousy. Not enough detailed, not all roads are on it and a lot of information is missing. I wished I could get my money back!,

After paying a fairly steep price for the app, the first day of use was quite a disappointment. Navigating from Pretoria towards the North West on the N14 between Pretoria and Krugersdorp, it directed me off the N14 on the off-ramp just to join the N14 again on the same on-ramp. Between Krugersdorp and Ventersdorp there are a few places where the actual speed limit is 120km/h but 100 on the map causing several disruptions of the radio audio with "BEWARE" announcements. There seems to be a setting for "build up areas" only. Between Coligny and Biesiesvlei (close to Gerdau) there is a T-junction where you have to turn right and left again. The "distance to next" disregarded this as a straight road and again at Biesiesvlei where you have to turn left at the crossing. It missed my turn-off road in Sannieshof and the destination by about 100m (called Spoel street instead of Spoelstra). Reminded me of my first Garmin (I never updated the maps). The App itself seems to work fine.

Love this app after having used TomTom and voice guides are much better. However product is misleading in that it does not support traffic at all in SouthAfrica. Given that live traffic routing is so crucial nowadays, the application is severely limited in practical use.
