Moby-Dick better elsewhere Moby-Dick better elsewhereThe Bryant & Sten interviews are charming, but brief. Wonderful idea, possibly still under construction. Unable to find "interactive glossary" and "chapter summaries." And, please, put the hyphen in MOBY-DICK when you refer to the title.

Worthless WorthlessThis app is useless. It contains 2 minute video clips about the themes and context of the book (Cetology, whaling ships, modernism, Melville's life etc.) with Melville scholars that are too short to be informative and thus produce nothing but common places (Wikipedia is a better read). There's a couple of loosely, if at all connected pictures to look at. You find better material on Flickr if you want to look at 19th Century natural history illustrations. The included Moby-Dick ebook is impossible to navigate, its basically a PDF without bookmarks and you have to flip page by page. You can't even search the book for specific words. Twitter inclusion looks like randomly added to make it a social media app. You can follow the #MobyDick hashtag which usually contains more tweets about overweight people than about the book. I don't see how anyone would profit from this app. There's no interesting or new information for scholars in there whatsoever and non professionals are better of googling what they want to learn about than spending money on this app.

App is Amazing! App is Amazing!I usually don't read books longer than 300 pages, but the animation, video and sheer interaction I had with this e-book allowed me to rip through Moby Dick. There's so much background and supplementary information that brings the story to life. I'm not a big fan of digital literature, but this book and app has definitely made me re-think my stance. Enjoy all.

interesting interestingthis app is kind of interesting in that it doesn't embed media in the text. It groups the media by theme. So there are videos about Melville's life, the whaling industry, characters, etc…But there's lots of stuff and their experts are really good. def worth the money
