Does what I need very elegantly Does what I need very elegantlyI have been very pleased with this app so far. I love the fact that the database is an open standard and easily backed up on a PC. Not too many keystrokes to enter a new sighting, especially with the last time and date button, and the separate Locations list is logical and helpful. One of developers emailed me back within a day with helpful, thoughtful answers to my questions and suggestions for a couple new features (like adding a "heard only" tag for a sighting, and a no-date option for given sighting only long ago.) I hope they keep polishing this already fine app.

Lifebird review Lifebird reviewMy wife and I have been using Lifebirds for over a month and love it. It is extremely easy to use and yet allows quite a bit of flexibility. With 9000 plus birds in the data base, you can set up a location by country, state, etc. and just see the birds in that region. You can enter birds by date and location and retrieve them according to your own criteria. You can also e-mail lists to other people who can then open them with a spreadsheet program (Excel works great). Or, you can mail it to yourself and open with your own spreadsheet and copy/paste the list to other people who may not have a spreadsheet. After we lead a bird trip for our club, we use that feature to let everyone know the list of birds seen. We have used several listing programs in the past, but this is certainly the easiest without sacrificing flexibility. The only improvement I would wish for would be the ability to enter mass data by locking date and location. If you are moving data from other programs or paper lists, it would be nice to minimize the clicks in entering large amounts of sightings. Great job.

Lifebirds Journal Lifebirds JournalI have been using Lifebirds for more than a year and have made more than 3000 entries without any glitches. The app on my iPhone has replaced my field notebook. Entries are fast and easy and include accurate coordinates for the sighting. The download to Excel and then to eBird is also seamless. I hope that future editions will sync my iPhone and iPad versions so that I don't have to manually transfer observations from my iPhone to my iPad.

Great App! Great App!This is an awesome app for keeping life lists. I found that it was easy to use on the first try. Also, once I finally read the instructions, I discovered a bunch of other neat features and options that I am now starting to use. Highly recommended.

Lifebirds Journal Lifebirds JournalThis is an excellent way to record bird sightings even for the novice birder. I have this installed on my iPhone and that makes it very convenient to carry with me everywhere. It is very user friendly and allows me to quickly record sightings. It allows for repeated use of locations so that records can be entered with ease. it is very easy to search the bird listings to narrow down your record. It also provides quick listings of your sighting by many different categories such as date and location. I would highly recommend this app for anyone interested in birding no matter what level of expertise.
