Not markedly impressed. That’s the nicest possible version. Not markedly impressed. That’s the nicest possible version. Not sure about the rave reviews: I have had all sorts of trouble setting this up across both a desktop & iPad. Never really succeeded doing so in a device share. Wound up buying the book I was trying to order anyway, but its only available as an ebook on my desktop right now & not conveninent on iPad because the original acct was set up for desktop ONLY. This may be a quirk of the initial setup in my case, but it shouldn’t be like this: Had already set up the desktop. Doesn’t appear to be a way to add another device later. The iPad has problems with its own account (new 2nd email address). Wish I had researched better, because this seems to be a shortcoming. Amazon customer service tried valiantly, I will credit them - but could not get it working correctly. I pulled the plug on the attempt after half an hour or more & still bought the book. The iPad could not be accepted to the same account (tried both independent Kindle app download & via iTunes on desktop). I gather all the devices you will ever have must be entered when you create your account. As that appears the case: meant I had to give a 2nd email address for the iPad and “CLOUD loan it” for 14 days to the iPad. (Connected access?) On a wifi iPad that doesn’t go online much, its of marginal use to [me] that way. Cannot read it on the desktop - because as a “loan” I am locked out of the new book until the return, so its a problem to LOAN: LOANING is not the same as changing from device to device & picking up where you left off there. I would recommend checking it all out before making your first purchase to be sure it works the way you expect. For me: I should have bought the hardcopy of the book for $10 more as I like real books anyway (same price as via iBooks), or tried the another app. Will update if the situation improves, but I have no high hopes at the moment.

Absolutely horrible Absolutely horribleAmazon is so focused on pushing their own hardware that they don’t update their software for other platforms. I am unable to use this app in any capacity as it always crashes, without fail, when trying to register my account. That’s it. I can’t use it without registering and I can’t register without the app crashing. Just the worst.

Japanese marketplace Japanese marketplaceThis app had been updated for the Chinese marketplace, but not similarly for the Japanese one. Since Amazon has been offering both the Kindle service and the hardware in Japan for over eighteen months now, will you please please update the Mac app to reflect this? The app refuses to even acknowledge my amazon ID! I’ve tried downloading the app from the Japanese app store too. Same problem - worse you could say, since the app is available in Japanese but you can’t use a Japanese amazon ID!

I’m in Canada and it tries to find my account on amazon.cn I’m in Canada and it tries to find my account on amazon.cnI have my accounts on both amazon.cn and amazon.ca, but I’m physically in Canada and I cannot login on this app. It just telling me that I have the wrong password but I’m typing it right. I have different password combinations on both. I think because my computer’s system language is Chinese so it automatically connects with the amazon.cn server. That’s stupid, and I have nowhere to change that.
