Infinite fun... Infinite fun...Edit: still 5 stars, I love this and Mitosynth. I just wish that Hokusai would get some tender loving attention. I don't have the time to write about all of the good points of this genius musical software. Sound design and creation is very intuitive. If you find the right apps to tie your workflow together into this, you will be happy. Long live grain science!

Solid synth for learning and experimenting Solid synth for learning and experimentingGreat sound & fx, and controls that are framed just right for someone with a little but not a lot of synth knowledge who wants to learn more. An excellent beginner soft synth, with pro horsepower.

If you like mitosynth If you like mitosynthMight want to give this one a try too. These apps complement each other nicely. I'm still amazed by what this puppy can do. It's still the king of grains on iOS. Very hard to master but fun.

Microsound MicrosoundThis excellent app, which I purchased for the 5th gen iPod Touch running iOS 8, is a very polished, professional, and modern synthesis engine. If you are interested in creating new music with different soundscapes, timbres, and textural effects, then this is the app for you! It works very well on the smaller screen of the Touch, and there has pretty much all of the interface amenities and functional features that the iPad version has. I would recommend looking at their tutorials/videos, and also reading the granular synthesis chapter in Curtis Roads book "Microsound" as kind of a theoretical background for working in Grain Science. I was considering buying a Kurzweil synth, but this app is better! I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what it can do. Looking forward to MIDI interfacing it with a keyboard. Basically, I want to use it as an ambient background soft machine, plus some leads in recording and performance. Thanks to Wooji Juice for providing such a beautiful tool to musicians! WoojiJuice has outstanding and very responsive, helpful customer service. I wrote a series of emails to their chief developer, and got back many hints, suggestions, and basic information. Incredibly good!
