Great App, but not perfect. Great App, but not perfect.I was desperate for a gps to support a 2 week trip to the UK. I purchased this for my iTouch and also purchased the world maps. Because I don't have any G capability or phone service, I also purchased a Bad Elf GPS receiver for $99. The Bad Elf is a must have. You will also need a USB car charger so you can keep the iTouch charged. The GPS drains the iTouch. Overall, I spent about $150. You have to have Internet connectivity to set everything up. Nothing comes with instructions. Skobbler is a basic GPS that when it works, works well. You can select shortest or fastest route, but nothing more. Way points would be useful for when you don't want to use the route it provides, but that is not an offered feature. It provides voice turn by turn directions. If you make a wrong turn, it is self correcting. Before you start every trip, you really need Internet. This way you can download the map for the trip. I save the destinations to Favorites. Once there, you can recall them and get directions to them without Internet. It is tough to get directions with just the GPS unit. It works well if you have the address in your favorites. It's nearly impossible if you don't. Warning-when you do this, it will start the route. If you are in a quiet place, people will get irritated. LoL The Bad Elf unit isn't perfect either. I find for each trip, I have to make sure the iTouch is properly connected to it. The pin connector doesn't have clips, so it pops out easily. You can fix it but best to pull over to the side to the road. I've driven over 500 miles with it so far in the UK between London, Portsmouth, Bath, Bristol and York. It works just as well as the $1000 system in my car at home, with less features. No GPS is foolproof and it is best to have a general idea of your directions. Is the Skobbler app with Bad Elf useful? Yes. Perfect? No. Worth the money? Absolutely! Best for travelers who need a simple solution, overseas trips, vacationers and people who don't want to spend over $200 for a system they occasionally need. If you need something very accurate for daily use, better to buy a regular GPS unit.
