Easy to use Easy to useEasy to learn. Easy to use. Though a little confusing at the first screen. You want the Pro version. The FTP file transfer between my Windows 7 PC and the iPad worked great in both directions. It's easy to create file folders and to move files around between folders. Displayed my Open Docs and MS Word files just fine. For PDF, only handles smaller files. JPG images and MP3 also fine. Display and editing of text files works well, though it uses a variable font rather than a fixed font and seems oriented to word processing as opposed to code editing. I would rate this program higher if it would allow me to use a fixed font for some documents or for parts of documents. I also would like to be able to turn the spell correcting/highlighting feature on or off. I was very pleased that I could download and upload Dropbox files and exchange files with with other apps such as Pages, Evernote, and Box, and presumably more, plus I could send files to Samsung Mobile Print. This app may need some stability improvements since it does crash now and then.

Such a great tool you bend it Such a great tool you bend itThe reports of crashing are all to do with what you expect it to be capable of. This still is a fantastic file tool, but it's running on a resource constrained information consumption device. The iPad is not a full blown computer, yet people get so excited about what it can do they push it too far. So, a couple of rules. If you find the app crashes, close other apps. Close other tabs on Safari. Even safari causes out of memory crashes, and you expect Apple to respond to memory warnings. Don't try and open humongous files, it just can't. If fileApp always fails, it's likely to be the size of file it's eating. And finally, don't store hundreds of file on the device; cataloging them takes up memory that is shared with file opening. Take files off the iPad once you've done with them. Store just a link to the file.

Prefer this version of File App ! Prefer this version of File App !This is still much better than the ‘new’ version of FileApp Pro. Better look, easier to navigate, colours and style are better too. Latest SDK kills all great applications slowly… Apple's propaganda wants us to believe otherwise !
