The Economist World in Figures iPhone edition

However, the charts are often hardly readable. They need to be able to be enlarged.

Those who actually collect, work with, or casually enjoy economic data points knows your team needs to offer a trial period. A couple hours would suffice. This price is cheap for a normally expensive data class, which makes me doubt how rich the quality would be. I can scrape or text mine any web sites that have offering comparable information. Why should we users blindly throw away a few hard earned dollars for this app? Motivate us folks at The Economist!! You obviously don't need the money, but you definitely to engage a younger audience that leverages mobile data. Think about tomorrow's revenues, today!

It's a neat and interesting idea. I saw an ad for this in the magazine (I'm a paying subscriber) and immediately downloaded it. I rarely download new apps so quickly. However, it was very hard for me to fall in love with it since the free feature set is so incredibly limited. I can look up the population of Denmark (5.6 million) but anything beyond that, the app wants me to cough up money and I don't even know what I will get. Could I at least get a free month to try it? A discount rate perhaps for being an at least quasi loyal subscriber to the magazine? In short: the idea is great. But because the app fails to deliver any value to me out of the gate, I've already given up. Deleted.

My favorite part of this application is fact-quest. After you play it a couple dozen times, it won't allow play it again and directs you to play it online.
