City Maps and Walks (470+ Cities)

This app uses GPS in the background and will run the battery out before the end of the day. There is no way to just have it use the GPS when I am using the app. It is not good to have the iPhone battery dead in a city you are not familiar with.

Must pay the fee per city you want to use.

App crashes. Try searching to load catalog, no catalog results received. Have removed and reloaded app multiple times as Help instructs. Does not work.

Of course you can't see your device on a sunny day as we experienced in Malmö. And if you want to tour in a different order or skip sites, no walking directions are provided. If you close the app to save battery you have to start over. GPS seems to use battery quickly.

The only reason this app did not get a five star rating is the fact that you cannot lock in the guide you are using. If you leave the app you have to open everything again from the start screen. Very irritating when you are walking a city and going in and out of museums and sites where you want to take pictures, etc. otherwise I loved it. Saw places in both the cities I visited that I never would have seen. The map and direction function (with the 3G) was priceless.
