I want more! I want more!So far, my daughter loves the colors & sounds. The water screen with pebbles----brilliant. It's her favorite. The frog makes her so happy. But I want more. I don't see another version! Please please say there's a more customizable version out there!! She NEEDS this. We need to be able to upload family & home images. Most important thing missing is 'I need to potty'. I cannot wait to see this app grow! Thanks you guys!! When a customizable one comes out, I'll review it even higher.

Superb App for my kids and at school. Superb App for my kids and at school. My son and I are really enjoying this update! The app itself is really multiple apps. First there's a very basic AAC board to help communicate how or why your child became frustrated or upset, basically 28 tiles or buttons each with a different symbol and text on them. You can choose between straight pushing them as buttons or use the drag and drop interface which I really like and haven't seen anywhere else. It really lets the kids take their time and think about what they're communicating. I like the simple interface! As well as the board it also has a few mini apps which all relate to helping a child calm down and explore different methods. There's bubble wrap if you don't have any lying around, a simple drawing app with different backgrounds and colours. I love the water part of the app, very realistic and fun to touch, I love the frog too! There's a balloon which I think would be good to help kids concentrate. They can touch down on it for 5 seconds to blow it up, I know a lot who can't keep still that long. Also there's a recorder section which is really handy, similar to the balloon in that it only records sound while you hold it down, then you can email the audio recording to yourself or someone. I've used this a few times just as a handy memo recorder. Finally there is a take a break section which just plays relaxing sounds out of a choice of 5, I am using this a lot for my son before he goes to sleep. I can see them adding even more features to the app later on but even now at $3 it's great value. I have shown my colleagues at school, and I am currently using it in my classroom. I hope this developer makes a full AAC app!

I haven't used it in class yet I haven't used it in class yetbut it seems amazing! I've played around with it and it really seems to be a very good method of using expressive speech to minimize frustration in a very simple way. it would be better if the items would snap in and out of place when touched because the children may clutter their boards by not putting things back where they came from, and maybe the parts could be color coded so children have more information visually than just "part of the column." Overall I'm very impressed, especially with the links to calming activities, although I think the balloon should get smaller as you touch it instead of bigger, because the message is that the worries/frustrations are getting smaller. I will add to my post when I've used this but I expect to do so successfully. i am a speech pathologist and this promises to be great not only for my nonverbal students but also for ones working expressing themselves during moments of anxiety. i will be showing this to school psychologist friends as well to see what they think.

Worth it for the calming activities alone Worth it for the calming activities aloneThis app has two sections- 'I feel' and an 'I need' . The interface for the 'I feel' board needs improvement- first of all there is a small set of symbols with no options for customization. Why not allow scrolling to access more symbols, including custom ones. Also, I would like the student to be able to tap a picture to send it to the appropriate column- currently you touch and drag a symbol to the correct place. This is a good option, but the symbols do not "snap back" into place- I could see this quickly getting dragged around and rearranged very quickly. That said, for the $3 I paid, I am very glad to have this app for the 'I need' section, which offer six soothing activities to choose from. The bubble wrap popping is just plain fun! You can also record your voice, draw a simple picture, do a breathing exercise with a balloon (this one is mot my favorite though, the squeaky sound drives me nuts- perhaps there could be separate volume and/off settings for each mini activity? The water feature is really neat- you can drag your hand across the screen to make ripples in a rocky pond. My favorite button, however, is the take a break button. It has a handful of calming music choices you can listen to. I put this on to help get my youngest child to wind down the other day effectively, and will be trying it again as he is constantly on the go.
