Reverse Definition Display Please Reverse Definition Display PleaseI have studied Hebrew for many years but I still need the glosses to help me with my daily reading. I bought "A Reader's Hebrew Bible" by Zondervan. I was quite excited to find out that Olive Tree has something similar except that I don't need to carry a thick book with me when I travel and I don't need to move my eyes away from the main text to the footnotes and come back. After I bought the BHS Parsed Bible and used for a few months, I was constantly frustrated by the beginner-friendly approach. I was constantly wondering, "It is really necessary to show what ו, ב, את, ה mean, since most Hebrew students learn them in the first week?" Every time when I click on a word, I ALWAYS need to scroll down (not just the short gloss but also the longer BDB definition of those most common words) just to get to the main word definition. I will appreciate if there's an option to turn off the definition for these most common conjunctions, prepositions and definite articles. Or, if it's technically too hard, just reversing the order of display will be greatly appreciated. e.g. Gen. 1:4 et-ha.or It will be great if the definition display "or" (light) first, followed by "ha" (the), lastly "et" (object marker). Because I believe most people who click that word want to know what "or" means, not "et" or "ha".

Handy HandyOlive Tree's app lets me do a wonderful thing: carry the Hebrew Bible (Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia), the Greek New Testament (Nestlé-Aland 27), and a couple of English translations around in my phone. I can display the original language in parallel with an English translation. I can do searches in them. This is all very handy. The Hebrew and Greek fonts are well done and display well at different sizes. It should be clear that there are some limitations. Although the Hebrew and Greek texts are critical texts, they do not include the critical apparatus. So I can't check textual variants. Also, the texts don't include morphological analysis, which would often be helpful. Olive Tree has a tendency to download texts I don't want (mostly commentaries and "helps"). These take up space on my phone. The Bible Maps are not very detailed and cannot be searched. The software is rather expensive for an iOS app.
