A lifesaver I can’t live without A lifesaver I can’t live withoutI transitioned from Windows to Mac last year and the most obnoxious thing about the transition was the lack of the ability to snap windows. I didn’t realize how necessary this feature was in my everyday computer use until I switched to Mac. I went in search of a snapping app and BetterSnapTool was exactly what I wanted and for a fair price. This app is perfect and a real time-saver. It’s easy to use and settings are also a breeze to change. As a frequent Windows user, I had swapped my Control and Command keys so I could more easily switch between the operating systems without getting thrown off by the keyboards. As a result, the shortcuts I set to snap windows left and right are Control left arrow and Control right arrow. I also frequently use the quarter snapping when I don’t have my second monitor and need to be looking at 3 or 4 windows at once. I’ve also changed my settings so that right clicking the close window button completely quits the application. I’ve recommended this great little app to everyone and I will also recommend it to you! Give it a try!

Lost Functionality Lost FunctionalityThis app was AWESOME with Mavericks and prior OS X versions. It provided must-have functionality for repositioning and resizing windows and was a dream for former Windows users that were used to such native functionality. However, with new window manipulation functionality in Yosemite, many of the features of BetterSnapTool are now overridden with native Yosemite functionality. As a result, many of the things that were easily done with BST can no longer be done. For example, prior to Yosemite, BST offered a feature that allowed the user to center a window on the screen while maintaining its size by double-clicking the title bar with the mouse. However, Yosemite now automatically maximizes the window when the title bar is double-clicked, and the ability to center the window on the screen while keeping its size unchanged has been completely lost. Additional stars deducted for poor product support.

Coming from Windows to Mac Dev Coming from Windows to Mac Devthis plugs that missing gap in easy window control, 5 stars, excellent. Wonder for a bonus if the developer could add in the ability to snap "All windows to current screen size” (useful after a resolution change).
