Benny Demus

While it has been his skills as a DJ that has projected his success, thus far, it is his gift of story telling that has allowed him to become a very skilled MC. Since his days in St. Thomas, Benny Demus has been blazing the microphone, first as a group member with Rock City then as a solo emcee when he hit American soil in New York in 1994.

Benny Demus introduced himself as an emcee in the US on the college circuit and performed at various venues while attending college in North Dakota and Wyoming. After Akon sought him out he brought Benny Demus on as his DJ, DJ Benny-D. Since then, it has been a world wind of opportunities for Benny Demus. He is the DJ for not only Akon, but for Rock City and for Eve. While very appreciative of the opportunities his career as a dj, have afforded him, it has stalled his career as an emcee. He has respectfully held back his career as an emcee first, for Rock City, as a new group and then for Akon, as a new Artist.
