Reliable, Easy to use. So much better then MS Word with audio! Reliable, Easy to use. So much better then MS Word with audio!I use AudioNote on two Apple computers and my iPhone, mostly to record audio and notes on long, technical meetings. After more than a year of use I am totally committed to these apps. They handle long stretches of audio without any difficulties. Files go between iOS and OS X seamlessly. (The built-in file sharing system is a little weird, but I just use DropBox.) It’s easy to get to a specific piece of audio: just click on a word in your notes and you are there. I used to use Notebook view in MS Word and had horrible reliability problems with audio recording — lots of crashing and losing all my data, and embarrasing interruptions to business meetings. Not once have I lost anything with AudioNote. These tools are excellent!

Must-have for the Memory-challenged! Must-have for the Memory-challenged!I don’t know how I would have made it through my PhD course work without this app! I LOVE it, and use it regularly. My only suggestion would be to have a manditory save option prior to closing a new note. I lost valuable information on a couple of occasions, before I learned to ALWAYS save prior to closing.

awesome app with room for improvement awesome app with room for improvementHi there, I love this app! I use it to take notes in class and to record the lectures. It’s awesome. And I love all the features, like the option for different papers, and the folders so I can organize my files. I especially love that the recording is easy to navigate and corresponds with the typed words. That part blows my mind and usually is a grabber for people like myself. There’s nothing worse than having to search endlessly through a recording. Being able to go to a specific section just by tapping the word makes the app!! That said, I have some suggestions. I thought of them because when I try to convince my friends to get it, they ask about these things. For one, highlighters in different colors would be awesome! I also think it would be great if there was an outline function, like you see in Word. Class notes are often in outline format. This type of feature would help organize my notes and make it easier to stay on top of the lecture. The ability to italicize and underline words would also provide great organization to my writing. Finally, I would love to have different fonts, font color, and paper color. As a budding psychologist (I’m getting a doctorate in psychology) and a licensed art therapist, I know that color can enhance learning. It also makes notetaking more fun. This would improve the experience immensely. I recognize that all of these would essentially make the app eerily like Word, but that’s the idea. Most people would love to have such an app. So those are my ideas. I apologize if my ideas are unrealitistic. It may be that many if not all are way too expensive or difficult, but I wouldn’t know because it’s not my area of expertise. I just wanted to share my opinion. Hope this helps. Take care, Catherine

Songwriter’s Friend Songwriter’s FriendNow that we have syncing back to the computer from the iPhone and iPad app, the combination of having the iOS version and the Mac OS version is priceless for songwriters. I can speak in my lyrics and sing my melody ideas into my iPhone even when out for a hike or a drive (with headset, of course) and come back to my Mac to edit, record, and send to my producer and other musicians whom I have also encouraged to download either the iOS app or the free AudioNote Lite version. In addition, as one who makes up songs in concert for audience members, I can record the songs, email them to the person for whom the song was written, and then transcribe it!
