Visitor from Los Angeles Visitor from Los AngelesSuch a wonderful way to get to know New York City. I took the tour at a leisurely pace, stopping in at a few museums (including the wonderful Guggenheim and the awesome Met), visiting Central Park and the Zoo, sampling street-vendor food, and basically having a real New York experience. This is a great app. I can’t wait till the next Touchscreen Tour comes out. (Updated 6/26/11) To respond to the gentleman who had trouble with the GPS: the app worked very well for me. iPhone GPS, as you may know, i s mainly determined by the mobile-phone reception and triangulation, which can be a problem when you're walking thru a canyon of skyscrapers. In the intro the app makers acknowledge this and explain how to use the manual control if the GPS is balky. I had to advance manually twice (by Tiffany's and by Rockefeller Center), and I still had a great time on my walking tour.

Top Notch Tour Top Notch TourI've tried many ipod and iPhone tours of New York, but this one is hands-down the best. The quality is much more professional than the other apps I tried (one of which cost $15!). It is obvious the moment the narrator begins speaking that this was written by accomplished authors. The information provided is also much more detailed, which will make this interesting to those who have toured Manhattan many times before. Way to go. I can't wait to see other Touchscreen Tours.

WOW, something on 5th Ave I can afford, and appreciate. WOW, something on 5th Ave I can afford, and appreciate.Ok, I'm not a city person. And the last thing I'd ever do is go into a store on 5th Ave, reminds me of what my friend told me about Beaver Creek; when you arrive, flush $100-bill down the toilet, and if it bothers you ... go home right away. This app gives a great reason to stroll 5th Ave. Can't wait until they do one for The Village, that will be fun.
