  • C u s t o m I z e --- YES! ?
Truly created by developers after my own heart. E V E R Y app by these love able geniuses is SO fully customizable, and beyond adding your own 'stuff' you can turn on or off category options at any time. You can even record your own praise words for correct answers. What I like very much about this app is the ability to isolate the category to 'letter sounds' and then decide how many options will be displayed. For ex. I choose to have only a field of two display because my daughter has Down syndrome, and while we are beginning work on letter sounds, a field of two choices is just right. So, the upper case letter is on one side and it's lower case match is on the other side. If you tap EITHER one you hear the sound. Object is to drag the matching letter from the left to the empty box next to the letter on the right side of the screen. Love it. Love almost ALL their apps. Check them out. ?

  • How do I EDIT????? >>update<<
E-mailed my questions and received an e-mail back within hours. Great response time and concern, although no fix for my questions. I deleted Ap and re-installed so I could revise the chores and payment allocations... BUT now it CRASHES every time I try to add a chore. ^^^^^^BAHHHHH!!!!!!^^^^^^ really want this to work. :-/. It's a five star Ap if I could get it to work. ------------------------------------- I am loving the concept of this ap! LOVE the tally at the week's end and the fact that we can allocate percentages to savings/investing/spending...... Also think it's super cool that you can specify addition one-off chores for certain days in addition to the ones you choose from the pre-loaded list ( these repeat on each day once chosen from the list at start up ). So there are really really awesome things built it.... B U T how in the world do I edit this week's list? For instance I accidentally put "gather trash from bathrooms" on the wrong day. How do I remove it from Wednesday and put it on Tuesday? And how do I change the amount allocated for the preset chores once I'm adding additional chores?? Example: I want him to earn an average of .35 per day to total up to roughly 2.50 per week. If I have two chores one day and four chores the next day, how can I adjust the earnings, or what if one chore is especially labor intensive and I want to change the earned amount..... It seems that once you set up a day or a week, you can't get back in to make adjustments to the preset chores OR the added chores. PLEASE HELP!!!!! I love this ap and want to use it for sure, but now I'm stuck with this current week being loaded with wrong chores and incorrect amounts. Thanks much!

  • Highly D I S A G R E E with "lame" comment
For initial learning, praise is ESSENTIAL no matter the number of tries. As the child generalizes his knowledge to make the mental match between picture and word -or- correct and incorrect, the child will naturally achieve correct answers with fewer and fewer tries until mastery is gained!!!!!!! Set up of this App (and their other ones) is POSITIVE reinforcement. These are all amazing ---- although I **REALLY** want the two "tweaks" made that I mentioned in my review of the Toddler Alphabet and Toddler Questions. I think the "lame" comment is absurd, and I have a 3 y/o child with special needs and two other children who are gifted learners. Read the reviews of the other APPS in this series to get an accurate view of how thoughtful and insightful these Apps are. I'm so glad I found them. My daughter is participating in the nationally recognized Literacy Program at "GiGi's Playhouse" in Schaumburg IL ( a Down syndrome awareness center ) and this App will reinforce those concepts while simultaneously stretching her skills in matching, auditory processing, visual recognition, memory, and general vocabulary. The combination of visual and auditory along with POSITIVE reinforcement is a goooooood thing! Again, r e a l l y want those TWEAKS made.

  • Tweak(s) that will make this the best APP ever!
Same suggestions as I detailed in my review of the Toddler Alphabet..... P L E A S E consider this... :-) 1. Highlight somehow ( bolded, outlined, grayed out ) --very briefly-- the incorrect choice as its name is said and BEFORE it disappears. This allows the child to couple the image with its word label and generalize the knowledge of the picture with its word SO much faster. Incorrect image disappears even before the thing is named - out of sight out of mind. The child hears without seeing what it was that he just chose. 2. Allow a developmental age range choice AND/OR ability to choose how many options are first presented with the question (e.g. Ages 1-2 -- we would offer a field of 2 or 3 and probably NOT HAVE a slide asking them to touch the "hexagon," rather a circle, triangle, or square. Then Ages 2-3 -- increase the field of choice and add more variety/complexity. Then Ages 3-5.... etc... Something like that.) Looking VERY FORWARD to those updates!!!!!! You do great work. This is a universally amazing APP with HUGE appeal for children with special needs (if tweaks are made).

  • Minor tweak(s) -- Would make this *ASTOUNDING*!!!
:-/ *****incorrect choices disappear too fast!***** I have just downloaded with the intent of playing with my 3 y/o daughter who happens to have Down syndrome. I played through a couple screens and noticed that when the INCORRECT letters are tapped - they disappear and then the letter name is said..... This truly IS awesome, h o w e v e r. ----- what would make this APP universally SUPER AMAZING is if the incorrect letter bolded, color changed, turned to gray or black, enlarged, or tipped gently side-to-side BEFORE disappearing. (Just a 1 second emphasis of some kind on that wrong letter AS the letter name is said and BEFORE it goes away.) Then the child would have the Visual in combination with the Vocal utterance of the letter they chose. This would serve the needs of children with challenges, visual learners, and kiddos in general. Please, please, puh-leaze can you make this change????? :-) One other thought might be to have an "Easier" and "Standard" option so early learners (my 18 m/o) or children with delays (my 3 y/o) might be able to begin this game with a field of 2, or 3, or 4 choices..... Even more mind blowing would be if you could choose yourself between having a field of 2, 3, or 4. My daughter is very proficient when choosing things from a field of 2 - 3, but more than 4 dramatically decreases her success rate at this age. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ The fact that you were so thoughtful in creating this to allow for learners to absorb through trial and error and achieve success within a narrowing of the field of choice is very forward thinking. GOOD JOB! >>>>You guys R O C K <<<< ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
