  • Fantastic
The National Geographic magazine app brings the extraordinary visual and print content of the magazine to life like never before. As a longtime subscriber to the physical version of the magazine, it came in the mail, I thumbed though the photos then put it in the magazine pile on the coffee table. With the iPad version, however, I find I not only look at the photos, but voraciously consume every written word, every caption, every detail--often 2-3 times each month. Then I read it again 3 months later. Sure there's a navigational learning curve, and an occasional miss-tap or miss-swipe, but the NatGeo magazine app is at the edge of how we will forevermore consume information and be enthralled by it. 100 years from now historians will look at this brave new world of content delivery as a leap in human evolution. Darwin would love it!

  • Not ready for iPad
This app simply doesn't work on an iPad. Not ready for release. Please fix log in bugs so users can at least get beyond the home screen. Good thing it's free. I paid nothing. I got nothing.

  • Excellent!
Goodbye to my print subscription to PDN, the large, bulky folio-sized version, relegated to a static space unless you like to lug around a bulky magazine. I consume magazines on the go, and the new iPad newsstand version of PDN is easy to navigate, photos pinch-up to reveal their detail and impact, and the text options allow for greater enjoyment and easier access of an essential photography periodical. I like it. Kudos for the effort, with thoughtful attention to how the reader/viewer can best use the content.

  • Great idea . . . But
It just doesn't work. Most photos, most species, simply do not load. I so want this app to work.

  • Downgrade 2012
Save your pennies. I have purchased all versions of this game. I won't make the mistake of giving these people money next year. Easily the least functional, least fun version yet. Zero stars.
