Great app! Great app!

I have been searching for an app to create simple, editable diagrams and to overlay shapes and arrows over pictures - this app is GREAT! I would love to see a freehand shape tool in the future :)

Good for the cost - but careful, its out of date

I sampled the app on the web, liked it, then bought it here. The web version is 4.+, which is newer. So bought it here and then found the app was less evolved. If I now want 4.+ have to pay full price there, it’s not in app store. The app is good. Priced right. But I am annoyed that the app store version is out of date and and buying it was a waste.

Needs Work Needs Work

I purchased for the connected lines feature, which should allow me to create flowcharts that stay connected even as I rearrange the boxes. They do stay connected while dragging the boxes, but when arranging the boxes (e.g. align top) the connections break. Very frustrating.

Great value, has a few bugs Great value, has a few bugs

This is a great value at 5$ (95% less than the OmniGraffle price), it has all the features I need for my flow diagrams. Has a couple issues around undo/redo, text rendering on shape resizing (old text lingers until the screen gets “refreshed”), and is missing a feature and niceties here and there I’d like, but overall it’s much better tool than what I was using before (Google Drawings).

Easy to use an great potential but buggy

Love it to create schematics and visual representations, but quite buggy. Shapes don't act as the should when you rotate them. Shapes change color for no reason, ... And often it changes my default pointing arrow on my mac, to a hand and it doesn't return to it's original state untill I close and reopen the app. In short: It's piece of software with great potential but it should be updated more frequently with bug fixes.

Shapes is a simple, elegant Graphing and Diagramming app. Shapes gives you all of the most important features you need in a Diagramming tool without all the extra cruft, and without breaking the bank.

Shapes now has support for "connected" lines. When resizing lines, the lines magnetically snap to other shapes. Then, as you drag the connected shape around the canvas, the connected lines move as well.
