Reliable, but incomplete, MIDI Sequencer Reliable, but incomplete, MIDI SequencerI bought MIDI Pattern Sequencer for two reasons: (1) I was (and still am) looking for the ideal stand-alone piano roll MIDI editor to use with iPad synths, samplers, and drum machines; and (2) I am very fond on this developer's other product: Audio Mastering. But while I'm generally happy with the app, I feel 4 stars is a more appropriate rating, since it's gone a while without an update and is missing a few things. The primary thing to recognize is that app is monophonic...well, sort of. Each row you see on that neat and tidy grid layout can only be assigned to a single note. However, you can assign multiple rows to the same instance of an app. So, if your MIDI app is Sunrizer, rows 1-3 could all be driving different notes from that same app, and you could make a chord. But you'd have to program it note-by-note, which is tedious. If polyphonic chords through MIDI are what you want to do, Xynthesizer, Genome, or other sequencers are probably a better bet. But there are still many advantages to using "mSequencer". For one, hook up and assigning MIDI to other apps was a breeze. Very easy to get to and without having to dive through several sub-menus. Also, while the app itself does not produce sound, you can use the keyboard in the app to essentially "preview" notes as you program them. This, combined with the excellent pattern and sequencing options, would allow you to put together a fairly complete project with minimal hassle. If the developer had continued to work on the app and improve it (polyphony interface? chord buttons?), this may be the best sequencer on the market at this time. Take a look at Analog midiSequencer for an example of a simple app that added major features down the road. But as it is, mSequencer still works, and is still preferrable to many of the alternatives. Note: As a practical matter, trying to run multiple synths throuh mSequencer on my iPad2 is just not a good idea. If you dedicate the whole grid to just one app, it really is "polyphonic", it just has a different approach to note programming.

Solid Sequencer Solid SequencerThis is a nice sequencer that offers a lot of control over notes and CC automation. There are 64 mono midi tracks each with their Own midi channel and CC automation. These are grouped into 8, to create 8 patterns that can be simultaneously replayed If I could change it I would make it a bit more performance orientated as You have to press a lot of buttons to use it.

Ripped off Ripped offSorry - a Midi editor that doesn't open midi files! Not happy. No import or anything of the kind either.
