Easy and free app Easy and free appVery good information and a supplementary app I use with another I can practice my stroke order for. It pronounces each character and has the stroke order. Unfortunately, there's no stroke practice but the quiz/review lets you compare what you've learned. You can kinda cheat because the answers at the top if you're familiar with vowel order but other than that, good free resource.

Good app, a few things would make it great Good app, a few things would make it greatOverall I like this app. I have two suggestions. The first is to have a page each for hiragana and katakana where you have a table and can click on each symbol to hear the pronunciation. Ok, you might want a second page for combinations, but the idea is to make it easy to find the pronunciation while you are practicing your handwriting. This would be best seen on an iPad version, but you could be creative and lay it out on the phone. The other suggestion is to link the pages together so that you don't have to go back to the main page in order to move on to the next thing. Otherwise, thank you for this nice app.

Excellent Teacher Excellent TeacherI find this to be a very thorough and solid app for teaching the Japanese syllabaries. It covers everything you need and want to know at the best times to introduce it to you as you learn. I've had a very fun and importantly a very motivating time taking my first steps into Japanese and I highly recommend this app to anyone interested. It comes with many different features to help you study in a way comfortable for you. Everything is completely free, and they're not exaggerating when they say the ads are unobtrusive. They usually don't even show up. I fully support these developers and thank them for guiding me into the Japanese language.
