Challenging game Challenging gameI have been playing “friendly” but very competitive hearts for 40+ years. Not every day, or even every year, but quite a bit. This version is a challenge, at least at the “difficult” level. I finish first about 50% of the time, but also finish 4th occasionally. Overall, I finish 2nd. Much better than the Microsoft version of the game, which is much too easy. I have no criticism of any aspect of the game. I will mention that I do not care for the “trophies”, such as “addict” (many hours of play). Also, I would prefer not to see the option to change the rules (but at least there is no pressure to do so). In other words, well worth the money, especially for those long cross-country flights.

Not fun to play…. Not fun to play….Good luck trying to beat this… 90% of the time I get stuck with the Q of Spades. Since this NEVER happens in real life, I have to question the algorithm used to deal and play the cards randomly. There’s no difference in the modes - game plays exactly the same in Easy, Medium and Hard modes. It looks good; nice graphics. Just wish the game was more fun to play. At least I only lost $2.

Suspicious deals Suspicious dealsI don’t believe the deals are random in this game. Players will shoot the moon several time during a single game. For instance, in nearly every hand one of the players receives most of the diamonds, etc. I’ve gotten nearly all the hearts face cards on multiple occasions. I don’t believe this would happen with a truly random deal. I’ve won a lot, mind you, but it doesn’t play like a real game of hearts, so it is no fun.

Not a networked game Not a networked gameWith this game you can only play against yourself, there is no network play. How silly of me to think that you would be able to play hearts over a lan against your friends and family. Even Windows for Worgroups in the ‘90s came with a FREE hearts game that you could play over the network, this is ridiculous.

too much info too much infoThe game plays ok. I do not like the section that tells you how many points a player has during the game. It removes the challenge of remembering what was played and figuring out what waits to be played.
