Cute, fun, and maddening Cute, fun, and maddeningNot a bad little side scroller. Tutorial could be expanded to include info on the power-ups, or at least a tutorial page could be added for that. They're pretty self explanatory as you collect them, but a couple (angel wings, phasing), for example took trial and error to figure out; for example - i assumed "angel wings" gave some sort of flight ability, but after jumping while the power was active and Grumpy Cat didnt stay in the air any longer than a regular jump, i figured out that it allows continuous jumping to stay in the air -- regular jumps can only be repeated once in the air, for a "double-jump". Seems that while any power-up is active, obstacles can be "walked through" (which is also an achievement) but the power is either eliminated or reduced, depending on which power, obstacle, or both. Phasing seems to be gradually reduced if an obstacle is walked through or come in contact with while active, but I haven't yet figured out if it depends on the obstacle how quickly the power reduces. And since I had no idea what Phasing actually did, but didn't want to die during the game, I continued to avoid obstacles even while the power was active, but when I accidentally didn't jump in time to avoid an obstacle while Phasing was active, I realized that not only did I not "die", but the power was reduced (when Phasing is active, GrumpyCat becomes transparent and surrounded by a green glow. As the power is reduced, he becomes more opaque until the power is gone. Also not sure if the current active power remains active indefinitely or runs out after a certain time if no obstacles are come in contact with, because as the game progresses and increases in speed and difficulty, avoiding obstacles becomes more difficult. Also, initially thought multiple power-ups were "stored" for use as they were collected, but that isn't the case; if Phasing is active and then Angel Wings is collected, Phasing is gone and AW becomes the active power. So choose which Power-ups you collect carefully. Angel Wings seems to be the best for avoiding the mummies, so once the mummies appear, if I collect AW, I generally pass up any other Power-Ups until after AW has been eliminated. A couple of achievements seem impossible; "Double Roll" -- unless "rolling" hasn't been added as an ability yet, or just hasn't been explained in the tutorial, I have no idea how to "roll". Initially I thought it meant the somersaults GrumpyCat does in the air during a regular jump, but two jumps back-to-back don't unlock the achievement. "Suicidal" -- dying within 15 seconds of the game -- also seems impossible. There are so few obstacles at the start of the game, and I've even tried intentionally dying at the first obstacle multiple times, but have yet to unlock the achievement. Also, the only "timer" in play measures "meters". Finally, the leader boards don't show up in-app. I am connected to Game Center, but when i go into the leader board screen... Nothing. And the links to share your score via Facebook, twitter, or email don't seem to work for Facebook. Even though I don't really are about those things, it does seem to be a glitch. Also, there are additional achievements not listed in the achievements screen ("Winter Hoarder", for example) but are displayed via Game Center pop ups when achieved. All in all, I enjoy the game. Only sharing the above issues as feedback.
