Ekranoplan, cool! What about an update/upgrade plan? Ekranoplan, cool! What about an update/upgrade plan?I'd really like to see this great gem not fall by the wayside and would love to to see it updated to either a universal app or an HD app. As well, nixing the outdated OpenFeint system would be a relief. This is the only legacy iPod game I keep on my iPad and would love to play this game in true fullscreen glory. I realize there's little hope for this, but I just wanted to let the developer know Ground Effect is still worth it to me, and I hope others let him/them know as well. Thanks for the great Ekranoplaning!

Yes YesIt might be said that a good racing game excels in two areas - the feeling the player gets when things go right for them, and the ability the player has to correct, when things go wrong. Accelerometer control is good for the former, bad for the latter. Ground Effect is a track learning game. Perfect circuits are encouraged. It's no fun to correct for mistakes. This plays to the strengths of the control method. The form is supported by the zen-like smoothness and soundtrack. It's a 'zone' game. All the design decisions here point in the same direction, there's no sense of indecision. Whether you like it or not is a taste issue; the design is very true. I like it. It kind of reminds me of N-Gen Racing, the Curly Monsters game on the PSX. It's nowhere near as awesome as N-Gen, but that is a very special game. I like the single-minded focus of Ground Effect. It does what it does to the best of its ability.

Great little game Great little gameI've had this gem on my phone for 2 years before I actually started playing it. Almost deleted it during a random purge of apps. Glad I didn't.

Great game! Great game! Was following the updates on this during the months of development and eager to purchase once it came out - exactly what I was hoping for! Great use of a modern device with the odd hint of 90's gaming nostalgia. Great fun, I just keep coming back!
