Audio doesn't remember last place Audio doesn't remember last placeI use the iPhone version in audio mode only, over multiple sessions during the week. Previous version would remember place where I left off, current version always starts at beginning. This is a serious problem for me, and as I see from the reviews, for others also. Playback speed button is too small and faint to see clearly. Otherwise, I like the app.

HATE this app & will cancel my sub if it's not fixed HATE this app & will cancel my sub if it's not fixedThis is the WORST app I own and that's saying a lot. Did anyone at the Economist actually try and USE this piece of junk app before they released it? My biggest complaint is that the app DOESN'T REMEMBER WHERE YOU WERE when listening to the audio. I like to listen to each edition straight through over the course of the week. But if you close the app it loses your place EVERY SINGLE TIME. If a day or two goes by in between listenings, then I might not remember exactly where I was. AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO -- that's the APP'S JOB! The *old* version of the iPhone app kept track of where I was even if I closed the app and came back days later, but for some reason the Economist removed that simple, obvious, app-writing 101 feature. I just do NOT understand! I LOVE listening to the audio edition, but now I'm like a month behind because I CANNOT STAND this new app. PLEASE, PLEASE FIX THIS and do it SOON! Otherwise I'm going to have to cancel my subscription and find something else to listen to.

Watching the Ratings Drop Watching the Ratings DropOne step forward, one step back. I've cancelled my audio subscription over the recent upgrade. The Economist staff can read my comment and all the others to figure out what is wrong. The most recent upgrade says the audio is being fixed to restore the functionality of earlier versions. Until then, I can do without. The new app doesn't create audio playlists. The whole point of my getting an audio subscription is to create a playlist I can listen to in the car to avoid having to scroll articles whilst driving. Bring back the old app which was horrible but at least had that basic function. Seriously, the best feature of the audio edition is the ability to make playlists. Otherwise it's like forcing a reader to read the issue cover to cover. Also, isn't the Economist going to be taken back out of the newsstand to be a primary app as it originally was? Having to search for it in the otherwise empty newsstand is a waste of clicks.

Lakers Celtics Lakers CelticsIt shouldn't be this hard to make a functioning app. I feel as if the previous version worked better than this current one. This one is alright but could improve in the following areas: 1. Don't let the playlist go back to the beginning of the issue when you exit the app, even temporarily 2. Allow the audio to be played directly from a particular article 3. Ask again how many issues you'd like to keep the audio/articles for so that it doesn't take up too much memory
