Great way to get started! Hope this review helps. Great way to get started! Hope this review helps.I trade in my free time but like most people fall short in some instances and don't consider myself professional. I did also try another app similar to this one called betterment but the gains were worse so I took my money out of there as well and realized I just need one account like this for now. Also, I really liked the round-up option on acorns which is the main reason I wanted to keep it. This app is great for saving small amounts of cash in order to grow your savings. You basically don't feel the hit financially and then you look at it 2 months later and realize you have over $100 in the account. I now have been using it and depositing $5 a day and not waiting for the round-ups to kick in. The fees are low enough to where I still made money and didn't just break even so it seems worth it. Also, return I got on the app was way better than any bank account you can find at the moment. Bank savings, money market savings, and CD accounts have had laughable rates for years now that don't even out pace inflation so we're really all loosing money if we choose to use those types of bank accounts. The investment aspect has not been horrible but not amazing either. I have seen about a 2% increase since I started using the app. The round-ups are the real value of the app from what I can see at this point. Also, 2% over a 2 month period is not bad. I am as aggressive as the app will allow though, so I don't know what others are choosing as for their risk tolerance level. As far as the log in issues some people are talking about, I have not had any real issues, just once but I forgot my password when the thumbprint scanner didn't work on my iPhone which is how I normally log in and it works very well. I was able to reset my password and get in with minimal effort. All in all it's a great app to start saving money, hopefully the gains will start to be more, it works well and you don't feel the hit financially. Great place to start.
